Truck Driver Causes Accident and Kills Bicyclist: Arraigned in Charlestown

The Boston Herald reported that a “Swampscott garbage-truck driver” has been charged by Boston Police with “leaving the scene of a fatal accident” after he hit and killed a bicyclist in Charlestown yesterday.
The truck driver is being arraigned in Charlestown Municipal Court in connection with the car accident which was near the intersection of Cambridge and Spice streets, near Sullivan Square.
The Herald reported that “[p]olice rushed to the scene at 1:40 p.m. yesterday after someone called and reported the cyclist had been struck. The victim, a man whose name police have not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The truck was tracked down which led to the identity of the driver.
